As quoted by The London Evening Standard, Crystal Palace manager has issued his players a warning ahead of their crunch tie against Swansea City this weekend.
The two teams face-off at the Liberty Stadium with both knowing how big a win could be already in the battle for survival, with our resident fans of both clubs here in the Transfer Tavern already feeling nervous ahead of kick-off.
The pair are bang out of form at the moment with Palace going on one of their alarmingly familiar long runs without a win, whilst the Swans are yet to secure three points under manager Bob Bradley.
The American joined as a replacement for Francesco Guidolin but so far he has not had the impact he would have liked, whilst his opposing contemporary Pardew is also looking for a reaction from his team to their form.
The former Newcastle United boss said: “We have got to stop conceding. It is putting us on the backfoot and making us chase games. A clean sheet and the first goal is probably two things top of our agenda.
“We have empathy with our fans, who are getting frustrated. They are seeing good performances. We have made some basic errors and some errors that we should not be making. If we can cut those out we can get the points.”
Palace have slumped to 16th in the Premier League table to lie just a point above the relegation zone whilst Swansea are propping up the division after letting three points slip against Everton last time out.
It’s set to be a nail-biting affair, then, and the two sets of fans here by the bar can’t wait until it’s over – providing they win.
