As quoted by ClubCall, Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur has set his sights on the Eagles causing an upset when the Premier League resumes after the international break, with our resident Palace fans here in the Transfer Tavern unsure whether or not they can actually do it.
The club host Manchester City at Selhurst Park with the Citizens many people’s tip to win the Premier League this season and them currently two points off of Liverpool in top spot.
Palace, meanwhile, have lost four games on the bounce to Burnley, Liverpool, Leicester City and West Ham respectively and our local supporters of the club here by the bar are concerned they are going to slip into the relegation battle.
McArthur, though, is not worried by their current plight and thinks an upset could be on the cards against Pep Guardiola’s men.
‘It’s not nice in the international break now for the players. You’re not playing, and when you’re on a losing run you want to try and make it right”, said the Scotsman.
“We have normally felt international breaks have come at a bad time, but it feels like it’s come at a good time now.
”We can regroup, get everyone a lot more solid, take away the mistakes and hopefully it will result in three points against Manchester City when no one expects you to.”
Palace are currently 16th in table, a point above the bottom three.
