Crystal Palace fans here in the Tavern were hoping for positive news on the injury front at long last, and this is exactly what they got as two faces are set to return to the side.
Roy Hodgson’s side have been ravaged by injuries so far this season, as recent setbacks to Bakary Sako and Wilfried Zaha have epitomised the kind of troubles that Palace are experiencing. And, these aren’t the only notable injuries as Martin Kelly and Mamadou Sakho continue to make their way back from hamstring and calf injuries respectively, two players who will look to play a key part in ensuring survival once they return.
However, it appears that the Eagles’ injury crisis is set to take a turn for the better, as fitness expert Ben Dinnery has revealed some promising news for Crystal Palace fans on Twitter.
Roy Hodgson says Mamadou Sakho "should be okay" to return in GW28 after missing the trip to Everton because of a calf problem. Meanwhile, the Palace boss is also "sure" Martin Kelly can recover from a hamstring strain in time to face Tottenham. #CPFC

Great news for Roy Hodgson to see two experienced defenders return to the side in time to encounter the most crucial part of their season, as defensive solidity has been a fault of Palace’s in games gone by. Indeed, with fixtures against Tottenham and Manchester United up next for the Eagles, they’re going to require all the firepower at their disposal with two absentees certainly helping the cause.
Crystal Palace will be over the moon with the return of two of their most important defenders, as slim pickings for Roy Hodgson now looks to be a thing of the past. However, with the terrible injury record that they’ve suffered from so far this season, another casualty may not be too far away for the Eagles. Indeed, the experience of both Kelly and Sakho is going to be influential for the remainder of the season, with two of the Premier League’s most dominant attacks up next for Palace.
