Crystal Palace enjoyed a mixed transfer window this summer in which they addressed some of the clear problems, but still fell short with a few of their targets.
Up front there was a clear problem with Conor Wickham, their only relatively recognised striker so Alan Pardew signed Loic Remy and Christian Benteke late in the window.
However, the Eagles have looked solid in defence over the last few years and despite finding themselves at the bottom end of the table after the first few games this season, there is reason to be optimistic in South London.
They reached the FA Cup Final last season for the first time since 1990 and despite losing out to Manchester United once again, there was a huge and boisterous support at Wembley.
If they can come with the same enthusiasm this season, the punters here at the Football Transfer Tavern see no reason that they can’t have a decent season.
They have some very good players throughout the squad but the landlord came up with these THREE as being the most underrated….
