Crystal Palace fans down in the Football Transfer Tavern can finally celebrate some new signings this summer.
New boss Frank de Boer has returned to his roots and snapped up Netherlands defender Jairo Riedewald from Ajax on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
Riedewald, 20, previously played for new Palace manager Frank de Boer at the Dutch side, making his first-team debut under him in 2013.
The Eagles are not quite flying high in the transfer market, having only otherwise added Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek, but Riedewald’s arrival is exciting news for Palace fans.
De Boer also has his hands full in keeping Everton at an arm’s length. The Toffees are reportedly chasing Palace’s top scorer Christian Benteke this summer.
Some of those still at Selhurst Park are fortunate their new boss has failed to recruit more signings, otherwise they’d surely have been shipped out.
We can think of TWO Palace players who it’s simply time to let go this summer…
