The Crystal Palace fans in the Transfer Tavern are in a buoyant mood following their weekend throbbing of Leicester City, which has all but confirmed their Premier League status for next season.
In what started as a dire beginning to the campaign when Crystal Palace had no points or goals after 7 games, then came the swift revival, much thanks to former England manager Roy Hodgson who steered the Eagles away from relegation.
Their recent form has been great and the team spirit around Selhurst Park seems to have been captured perfectly when regular penalty taker Luka Milivojevic gave up the opportunity to score his 11th goal of the season in order to let struggling striker Christian Benteke bag a much-needed goal and a confidence boost.
Anyway, that’s this season and now the Eagles within the Tavern are thinking ahead to the upcoming transfer window. With some being regular watchers of the French league and specifically PSG, our punters see Christopher Nkunku as a player who could fit in well at Crystal Palace.
With the young midfielder already getting 24 appearances in a PSG shirt this season, it really says a lot about his potential as a player. The Frenchman has scored on 4 occasions this campaign and with his current valuation as little as £4.50 million according to Transfermarkt, his form suggests he could be a real bargain should Palace do all they can to bring him to England.
Having been previously successful with recruiting PSG player Yohan Cabaye, should the now 32-year-old leave this summer, Nkunku has the making of a top replacement and one which could blossom under Roy Hodgson’s guidance.
