According to The Mirror, West Ham will battle it out with rivals Crystal Palace for the signature of Blackburn midfielder Bradley Dack.

Dack has been in superb form for Rovers so far this season, registering nine goals and three assists, and has undeniably been the club's best performer.

As expected, this has created a lot of interest from various Premier League outfits, and West Ham are one of the frontrunners to add to their summer spending spree. However, the role Dack plays at the club, primarily as an attacking midfielder, will leave injured star Manuel Lanzini in a precarious position.

The Argentinian is still out after injuring his ACL earlier in the year, and there are doubts that he will play this season. However, it is not specified as to when The Hammers are planning to make a bid for Dack. Should it be at the end of the season, his arrival will coincide with the return of Lanzini, which could result in the 24-year-old Englishman struggling for game time this season.

Should The Irons try to buy Dack this January, it would be a decent signing, as the club are lacking a high-quality number 10 in Lanzini's absence. But then again, it is unclear what the player's future would be come the end of the season.

Dack is also comfortable playing as a striker as well, and with rumours that Marko Arnautović and Javier Hernández may be leaving the club in the near future, that may be the most plausible reason why they are interested in him. Nonetheless, with Lanzini to return at some point, Dack will not want to be left out in the cold.
