According to The Sun, Crystal Palace face a battle with rivals West Ham for the signature of Blackburn Rovers star Bradley Dack.

The 24-year-old already has nine goals and three assists for the Championship outfit so far this season, and is making quite a name for himself.

Since joining Rovers in the summer of 2017, he helped them earn promotion from League One, also securing a place in the PFA Team of the Year. This season he has continued his good form and cemented his place as the club's best player. Consequently, there is a very common theme at Ewood Park; if Dack plays well, Blackburn play well.

Although his form has been a bit erratic in recent weeks, there is no denying that he was expected to leave Rovers at some point, whether in December or the summer, for better things. But it looks as though Palace may be the perfect destination for the midfielder, where he can have an immediate impact.

Under Tony Mowbray, Dack (valued at £4.5m on Transfermarkt.co.uk) primarily plays as a number ten, sitting just behind the striker. This is a role that The Eagles are crying out for this season, and Roy Hodgson would be immensely grateful for a player like Dack to sit behind his struggling strikers.

Hodgson has deployed both Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend as Palace's forwards this season, but the inclusion of Dack may be the key to getting players like Christian Benteke and Jordan Ayew firing this season. The added bonus is that Dack can also fill in as a centre-forward.

Very rarely is a club linked with a player that they so desperately need, so Palace should pounce at this opportunity.
