Dalglish Made Enquiries For £20M Red Hot Sharp Shooter: Carroll’s Form Is Becoming A RealHeadache

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has identified Valencia striker Roberto Soldado as his primary target ahead of this forthcoming January transfer market.

Liverpool have turned their attention away from Spanish star David Villa as it would not only take a substantial offer to get Barcelona interested but also it is very unlikely that the Spanish predator would leave the Nou Camp for Anfield.

Soldado is a player more in their reach and according to Spanish radio station Cadena Ser, they have reported that Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Soldado and that his sparkling goal scoring record hasn’t gone unnoticed at Anfield. Valencia’s in form striker has scored thirteen goals in all competitions, bagging a hat-tick in Valencia’s 7-0 demolition over Genk in last week’s Champions League.

Soldado’s form has also attracted interest from German giants Bayern Munich and they’ve already made an enquiry asking about the player’s situation.

Dalglish would be interested in bringing another striker despite splashing out the cash last January for strikers. £35million Andy Carroll has yet to hit the ground and is still struggling to find his feet, while £22.7million Luis Suarez who has been sensational since his move from Ajax, is let down by not being clinical enough in front of goal. Soldado would be a perfect player to complement the Uruguayan and would take a fee of £20 million to sway Valencia to sell their Spanish sharpshooter.

However the move may hit a stumbling block as Liverpool would only want to fork out £15 million for the 26-year-old. For their part, despite Valencia having suffered financial problems over the past few seasons which has forced them to sell leading stars such as David Villa, David Silva and Juan Mata they would be reluctant to part with yet another major star.
