While it has been another season where Crystal Palace have found themselves in the relegation mix, supporters have still had a few things to smile about.
And one positive the Selhurst Park faithful will take from this campaign is Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has been in excellent form.
The right-back could now be set for an England call-up with his team-mate Scott Dann believing it is only a matter of time.
“He [Wan-Bissaka] has obviously got the talent. He has shown he can do it week in, week out at this level,” Dann was quoted as saying by the Croydon Guardian.
“He is getting better and better. Whether he gets that chance now or in the future, I am sure he will get a chance if he keeps performing the way he does. If he does [get called up], we will be delighted for him.”
Based on his performances this campaign, as highlighted by Dann, Wan-Bissaka certainly deserves an England call-up. And looking at some of his rivals for a spot in Gareth Southgate’s squad, it is hard to see how he could not be given one.
Kyle Walker has been inconsistent while Kieran Trippier, before his recent injury, had been in poor form, dropping absolute stinker of performances against London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea. The less said about his comical own goal in that 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge, the better.
With all of that in mind, it would come as a huge surprise not to see Wan-Bissaka in the next England squad.
Crystal Palace fans, has Wan-Bissaka been better than both Walker and Trippier this season? Join the discussion by commenting below.
