Danny Rose likely to remain at Tottenham this summer

Tottenham Hotspur may not be able to offload one of the men they would have thought would have been leaving the club this summer.

According to a report by Sky Sports, Danny Rose is likely to remain in north London beyond the end of the summer transfer window.

It is understood that Paris Saint-Germain were interested in the England international, however, they have identified Atletico Madrid’s Felipe Luis as their number one target.

The 28-year-old appears to have fallen out of favour with Mauricio Pochettino and has seen his match time reduced significantly under the Argentine.

Rose had been given permission to speak to other clubs earlier in the summer as his manager did not want players at the club who were not focused on making Tottenham the best they could.

Schalke were rumoured to be interested in the 28-year-old and were keen to take him on a loan deal, however, it now appears that the £27million-rated left-back (via Transfermarkt) will remain at the White Hart Lane outfit.

The Verdict:

The news does not bode well for Rose this summer as it looks as though he will not be on the move.

With just a week left of the transfer window across Europe, and with PSG turning their attention to other targets, the England international could be set for a role as a backup once again.

It remains to be seen if another club comes in with a late offer for the left-back, however, it appears he will be staying in the capital until January at the earliest.
