Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have assembled in their masses for tonight’s Europa League final against Sevilla and they’re discussing one imminent move as they wait for kick-off.
Sky Sports state that the date has been set for Liverpool’s first piece of summer transfer business, which will see highly-rated striker Jerome Sinclair leave on a free transfer to join manager-less Watford.
The future of 19-year-old Sinclair has been up in the air for the past few months after he demanded more playing opportunities at Anfield, with interest from the Hornets quickly rising after it became apparent an exit for the teenager is likely.
With just five appearances in four seasons with Liverpool, since becoming the club’s youngest first-team player, Sinclair’s move to Watford should provide him with more playing opportunities- but Watford will have to pay Liverpool compensation.
Our landlord is tipping this to be the first of many exits from Anfield this summer, as he feels a host of big names and young talent could be offloaded.
Liverpool fans, will letting Sinclair go come back to haunt you? Let us know in the comments below!
