Everton haven’t quite managed to ensure consistency in the current campaign, but things are certainly heading in the right direction under Marco Silva.
The Toffees secured an impressive 2-1 victory away at the King Power Stadium prior to the international break, with Gylfi Sigurdsson scoring a wonder strike to put the game beyond Leicester City.
However, Everton will welcome Crystal Palace to Goodison Park in their next Premier League encounter.
Indeed, this will be a key game for a couple of the club’s first team members, with a disappointing showing possibly causing for them to be axed and frozen out of the side.
With that in mind, here’s a look at TWO players that could face axing if they don’t put in a huge performance…
Cenk Tosun showed moments of promise towards the end of last season but he just hasn’t been able to find his feet in front of goal in the current campaign, with just one goal and two assists to his name.
The Turkish striker has found himself on the substitutes’ bench at times due to his poor performances in the side, so today’s game against Crystal Palace could be crucial in terms of his future, with a potential axing if he doesn’t deliver.
Tom Davies has been one of the shining lights for Everton in the middle of midfield since enjoying his breakthrough, but this season certainly hasn’t been one to remember for the Englishman so far.
Indeed, Morgan Schneiderlin and Idrissa Gueye have been the main pairing in the middle of the park this season, with Andre Gomes still yet to make his debut for the club.
So, it’s vital that Davies makes the most of any chance he may get in the side against the Eagles, with a poor performance possibly forcing him to move out on loan in January.
