Arsenal set to miss out on deal to sign Mesut Ozil’s former teammate

Alvaro MorataArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are groaning after hearing that they look set to miss out on a talented player once again, with one of Europe’s finest winning the battle for a prime target.

Talksport state Arsenal held prior interest in Juventus forward Alvaro Morata and remain in the market for a striker when the January window reopens.

However, the chances of the Gunners luring Morata to North London appear to be dead in the water as it’s stated Real Madrid will trigger a £21m buy-back clause that they possess following the striker’s exit in 2014.

Reports state that a verbal agreement is already in place and that Morata will sign a five-year deal to return to the Santiago Bernabeu, where he could replace Karim Benzema; who is enduring off-field troubles.

Arsenal fans at the bar have their fingers and toes crossed hoping this isn’t the case, firmly believing that Morata is the perfect candidate to improve their forward line.
