Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are pleased to hear their side has got their act together in the transfer market, as it seems the Blues have already lined-up their first signing of 2016.
Italian publication Di Marzio states that Bologna midfielder Amadou Diawara has reached an agreement with an agent close to Roman Abramovich, indicating that Jose Mourinho’s side may be set for the addition of the 18-year-old.
Chelsea are in the market for plenty of transfer business in January to improve on their disastrous form, with the Blues already trailing the top-four by 13 points.
With Nemanja Matic amongst the first-team players underperforming this season, midfield enforcer Diawara would provide competition to the Serbian international and a signing looks likely after the player’s agent reached an agreement with an individual that was crucial to Abramovich’s takeover in West London.
The 18-year-old talent could become a major player for the Blues, as they aim to turn their season around, but at this time it’s not been stated as to what the nature of the agreement truly is.
