Deal Agreed: Liverpool agree three-year deal for Germany international

grossLiverpool supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are surprised at the news they are reading on Turkish Football via Turkish newspaper Takvim – with the publication claiming that Liverpool have agreed personal terms with Galatasaray winger Kevin Grosskreutz.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp knows Grosskreutz well, having managed the 27-year-old during their time at Borussia Dortmund, and the media outlet suggests a three-year deal has been agreed with the player, but not the Turkish outfit as of yet.

The versatile player, who can operate in a wide midfield position, or in defence, seems to be the first player Jurgen Klopp is to bring to Anfield – and the Reds faithful here in the Tavern are pretty surprised at this news!

Our resident Liverpool fans feel that Grosskreutz would be a good squad player to have in the team, but if Liverpool want to be challenging for the Premier League title, the club need to be going for players who are established and that would make an immediate impact.

Meanwhile, our landlord here in the Tavern feels that the 6ft 1 ace would add a distinct element of versatility to the Merseyside club, but wouldn’t set the world alight!

Liverpool fans……. What do you make of this news? Would you like to see this German star at your club in January? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
