The incredible form of Fulham teenager Ryan Sessegnon has been frequently discussed by Championship and Premier League fans in the Transfer Tavern throughout the season.
The full-back-come-winger is just 16 years of age but has already made 23 Championship appearances, scoring five goals, and netted against a Premier League club in the form of FA Cup opposition Hull City.
Widely rated as one of English football’s most exciting young players, the England U19 is inevitably being linked with some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, with The Daily Mail reporting on interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United.
But according to the British newspaper, Sessegnon will pen a professional contract at Craven Cottage when he turns 17 next month, in a blow to the transfer plans of the aforementioned top flight sextuplet.
Although that isn’t expected to deter their interest for the summer window in the way most new contract would, it will mean Fulham can command a much larger transfer fee for their left-footed prodigy.
Those in the Tavern, however, reckon Sessegnon would still be worth a punt even if the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs have to pay a big fee for his services. Right now, there’s no other player in the Football League having such a positive impact on his club’s season at such a young age.
