Our landlord here in the Football Transfer Tavern has been surfing the web this morning and has come across a report on the Sky Sports website, with the outlet claiming Arsenal midfielder Isaac Hayden is set to join Championship side Newcastle United.
Hayden, 21, is set to sign a five-year deal at St James’ Park and looks set to be the next piece in the jigsaw for the Rafa Benitez revolution at Newcastle.
A plethora of Gooners enjoying a pint of the TT’s finest ale admit they aren’t too bothered about this news, and say that Hayden was never really going to get a chance in the first-team, with the amount of midfield talent the club already possess.
Hayden spent last season on loan at Steve Bruce’s Hull City, and was an important component in the Tigers’ promotion to the top-flight.
A handful of Newcastle fans over by the pool table here in the Tavern are liking the sound of Hayden, and feel his experience of Championship football will be much needed ahead of the new season.
Arsenal fans…. Happy about this? Bothered? Let us know below!
