The Gunners fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern all have pretty sore heads today after a heavy weekend of drinking, but the news of a striker on the brink of signing coming from Metro are boosting their spirits!
Reports are suggesting that former Athletic Bilbao striker, Fernando Llorente is set to become Arsene Wenger’s second signing of this summer transfer window in deal worth around £8.5 million.
Llorente, a towering figure at 6 ft 5 in, would join the likes of Arturo Vidal and Carlos Tevez who have already moved on from Juventus this month, if the Spaniard does make the switch to the Emirates.
The 30-year old only managed to score seven goals in 31 appearances last term and was very much second fiddle to Alvaro Morata. While this form may not fill Arsenal fans with huge excitement it is definitely likely that reaching a deal with the Turin club over the striker is feasible.
What do you think Gunners? Would this be a good signing by Arsene Wenger? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
