Deal close: Arsenal edging towards £15m signing of long-term target

RabiotArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern sipping their pints of bitter have stated they are pleasantly surprised by Arsene Wenger’s busyness in the January market, with reports of another deal imminent.

The Daily Telegraph states Arsenal are on the verge of landing Adrien Rabiot from Paris Saint-Germain having held talks with the player’s agent in the past week.

Rabiot is desperate to leave the French capital in search of first-team football this month and Wenger is looking to land the midfielder, who he has held long-term interest in, paying £15m to bring the youngster to North London.

The French midfielder would add to Arsenal’s midfield ranks that are currently decimated by injury, whilst he can be considered a long-term replacement for both Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini, both of whom see their contracts expire at the end of the season.

Arsenal are currently sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table but there is frailties within their squad, which our fans are pleased to see Wenger is looking to fix quickly.

Our landlord believes Rabiot would be an excellent signing for Arsenal, bolstering their ranks immediately and improving the team in the long-term too.
