Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have assembled with all hands on deck ahead of tonight’s crucial Champions League tie and they’ve reserved champagne behind the bar, just in case.
Quite a few want to pop a cork early in celebration though as it appears Arsene Wenger has already lined-up his first signing in the January window.
CalcioMercato24 state that Arsenal have sent representatives to Brazil to secure the signature of exciting Palmeiras striker Gabriel Jesus, who scored a sensational 37 goals in 22 matches for the youth team last season.
The Gunners are in the market for new recruits to bolster their squad for the Premier League title race and ease the impact of a woeful injury problem, which has seen numerous first-team stars sidelined for lengthy periods.
Jesus’ arrival would present Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud with further competition for the first-team striking role, whilst also giving Arsenal a tremendously exciting talent for the future.
Arsenal fans, is a young striker the way to go or do you need an experienced man? Let us know in the comments!
