The Aston Villa fans are taking part in a pool tournament in the Transfer Tavern this evening, and are discussing some positive news on the transfer front.
According to reports in The Telegraph, the struggling Premier League club are close to securing a loan deal until the end of the season, which will see Bordeaux defender Lamine Sane make the move to Villa Park.
Garde has been assured funds by Villa owner Randy Lerner, as the club look to secure unlikely survival in the Premier League come the end of the season.
The Villa boss views Sane as an important piece of the jigsaw with regards to tightening up the club’s fragile defence.
The 28-year-old can play at central defence or defensive midfield and it is hoped that any deal can be concluded on the next 24 hours, to enable the player to be available for Saturday’s game against Leicester.
Those Villa fans in The Transfer Tavern are less optimistic than Garde when it comes to promises being given by the owners, and will not get excited until players have signed for the club!
