Aston Villa fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are thrilled with reports form the Daily Mail which claim the club are on the verge of completing a £12 million move for one of the most highly-rated young talents in Europe.
The publication claims Villa are on the verge of agreeing a deal with Barcelona for 19-year-old winger Adama Traore, previously believed to have been a target for Liverpool.
Villa boss Tim Sherwood has returned with an improved offer for the skillful wide man, having previously been put off by the £12 million asking price.
Traore is set to undergo a medical at Villa Park and agree personal terms before the club can announce him as their 10th signing of the summer.
Sherwood, who also tried to sign Adama during his brief spell in charge of Tottenham, said over the weekend: ‘He’s a good player but at the moment he’s a Barcelona player.’
A number of Villa fans sat over on table 77 in the Transfer Tavern are deliberating this deal, and are hoping that Traore can turn out to be a fantastic bit of business by Tim Sherwood – however, they all remain uncertain about the £12 million transfer fee!
