Deal close: Chelsea agree £11.5m permanent deal for striker

remyy77Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting a busy few days as the transfer window draws to a close and they’ve shotgunned the sofas to ensure they have the best seats in the house.

It seems an imminent deal could be set to go through, as The Daily Star states Chelsea have agreed an £11.5m fee for Loic Remy to move permanently to table-toppers Leicester City.

The Foxes have been in the market for a striker to bolster their forward ranks, which is already excelling with the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy starring, but the addition of experience French international Remy will provide a timely boost.

Leicester are surprise leaders in the Premier League and with each passing weekend their chances of winning the title seem to increase, though Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur will push them all the way.

Remy has looked for an exit from Chelsea this window as he wants more regular first-team football to bolster his chances of landing a spot in France’s European Championship squad at the end of the season.

Our landlord believes this is a superb deal for Leicester and that Remy could create a perfect partnership with Vardy.
