Deal close: Liverpool on verge of securing £4.3m addition

kloppppLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern gathered today for their Christmas do, where they stuffed themselves with turkey and then discussed the latest transfer reports surrounding their beloved club.

Talksport, reporting via Mundo, state that Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign Marko Grujic from Red Star Belgrade in a deal worth £4.3m.

It would mark the first signing of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool tenure and would be very much a deal foe the future, with Grujic remaining on-loan with the Serbian club until the summer.

19-year-old Grujic is enjoying a wonderful season with Red Star, who are currently sat 22 points clear at the top of the table with 21 games played- and they’re yet to lose a game.

With five goals for Grujic, the teenager has become an integral part of the side after starting 18 of the league games so far and making a further two appearances as a substitute.

Klopp’s assistant Zeljko Buvan alerted the Reds to the talented player and a call from the German manager was enough to persuade the youngster to continue his development in English football.
