Deal close: Liverpool reach agreement to land highly-coveted striker

Pato QPRLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have sacked off a game of pool to discuss what is set to be the latest in a long-line of striking arrivals at Anfield.

The Daily Star states Liverpool have won the race to bring Corinthians forward Alexandre Pato back to European football, paying £11m for the privilege.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side have struggled in attacking areas this season with Christian Benteke yet to prove he’s worth a hefty price-tag, whilst Daniel Sturridge continues to miss out through consistent injury problems.

The former AC Milan striker is said to have snubbed lucrative deals in China to move to Anfield, with compatriots Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino persuading him to move to the North West of England.

Our landlord isn’t quite convinced that Pato is the right addition for Liverpool, expressing his concern that the Brazilian could simply become another expensive forward flop for the Reds.

Liverpool fans, is Pato a good addition to your side? Let us know in the comments below!
