Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have turned down the golden oldies blaring out of the jukebox to discuss the first piece of January business that the club are set to complete.
The Daily Star claim Manchester United have agreed to let Victor Valdes leave the club this month for nothing, following a disastrous few years in England.
Valdes fell-out with United boss Louis Van Gaal last summer following claims he refused to play with the reserve team, which led to the Spaniard being left out of the pre-season tour. From there, it’s all been downhill.
The former Barcelona goalkeeper’s representatives are currently searching scouring Europe for a new club, with a return to Spain favoured as Sport claim Celta Vigo are keen to sign the experienced stopper. However, there’s also interest from Turkey.
It hasn’t panned out well for Valdes in his 12 months at Old Trafford and the fans in the bar are happy that the situation is finally drawing to a close, following a long draw out saga that’s flooded the back pages with negativity.
United fans, who’s to blame for how the Valdes situation ended up? Let us know in the comments below!
