Deal Close: Manchester United edging closer to sealing £12m deal for striker

Yoshinori MutoYoshinori MutoOur resident Manchester United supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are excited at the news they’re reading in the Mirror (via the Express) – with the publication claiming that the Red Devils are close to securing a £12 million deal for Mainz striker Yoshinori Muto.

This news has certainly caused a fracas here in the Tavern, with all the United fans incredibly excited about the thought of seeing a new striker at Old Trafford, after what has been a dull, boring season for the Premier League giants.

Muto, 23, has been a revelation in the Bundesliga this season, having notched seven goals in 18 games – and it seems that Louis van Gaal wants to take a punt on the Tokyo-born forward in January.

Our resident United fans over by the pool table here in the Tavern are excited about this news, with them all agreeing it is simply essential the club add some new attacking talent in this window, as it is evident that Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial are not enough!

The Red Devils’ FA Cup clash with Sheffield United last Saturday showcased their inability to score freely, with a last minute Wayne Rooney penalty saving Louis van Gaal’s side from a potential humiliating exit from the competition.

Manchester United fans….. Do you know much about Muto? Is he the type of striker you need? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
