Deal Close: Manchester United look to complete 5ft 11 defender signing

Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern will be happy to sign a new defender with Metro claiming a deal for Matteo Darmian will be completed imminently with a £12.7m fee and personal terms both now agreed.

The Red Devils had previously failed to get the defender to put pen to paper over a deal last weekend, however they have been in constant negotiations with the Torino star.

But now Sky Sports quotes reports in Italy saying a £12.7m fee has been settled and the deal is imminent.

United boss Louis van Gaal is to be expected to sell Rafael Da Silva to an Italian club once Darmian is all signed and sealed at Old Trafford.

A large group of Manchester United fans over by the pool table in the Football Transfer Tavern admit they’ve never seen Darmian play! But feel that signing a new defender is vital, with them all putting their trust in Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal.
