The Middlesbrough fans in The Transfer Tavern are gathered around the jukebox discussing a potential new signing at the club.
The Gazette is reporting that the Championship side are set to sign Leicester City defender Ritchie De Laet on loan until the end of the season.
The experienced 29-year-old is undergoing a medical and speaking about terms with the Championship side as they look to bolster their defensive options for their final push up the table for a place in the Premier League next season.
De Laet is a versatile defender who can play anywhere across the backline and will be an important cog in the promotion challengers wheel should the move happen before the deadline at 11pm.
With Jordan Rhodes also signing earlier this evening, it represents a significant transfer window in Middlesbrough’s transfer history.
The Middlesbrough fans in The Tavern are delighted with the news coming out of the Riverside at present and look forward to seeing the players unveiled by the club sooner rather than later.
