The Swansea City fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing the potential exit of one of their strikers.
According to Get French Football News, the Premier League side are willing to let Bafetimbi Gomis join French side Marseille.
Gomis has been told by Swans manager Francesco Guidolin that he in not part of his plans for next season and the player was set to undergo a medical today.
According to the report the striker will join the French side on a loan deal after agreeing to pay 60% of Gomis’ €5 million a year wage.
The striker still has a couple of seasons on his current deal with Swansea and it appears that the club are looking to trim their wage bill in order to make improvements to last season’s side.
Gomis joined Swansea on a free transfer from Lyon during the summer of 2014 and has gone on to make 69 appearances for the club scoring on 17 occasions.
Our landlord thinks this is a good move for all parties involved, and feels that the Swans need to find a new striker pronto!
