Tottenham fans loitering around the pool table will be encouraged by reports that they have won the race to sign Ebbsfleet United’s highly rated Shilow Tracey following an impressive trial, according to the Daily Mail.
The 17-year old had recently been linked with a switch to several other London based clubs, including the likes of West Ham and Crystal Palace, as well as Championship sides Ipswich and Charlton.
But the Daily Mail have claimed that Spurs are ready to make the promising midfielder their first signing of the January transfer window. The report also suggests that the deal could be completed by the end of the week, with talks currently at an advanced stage.
Tracey travelled on Spurs’ pre-season tour of America and featured for the club’s academy team in an 8-0 win against Jacksonville Armada and a 3-1 win over Baltimore Celtic, scoring in both fixtures. Earlier this campaign, the Ebbsfleet manager Daryl McMahon said:
“Shilow has made a very impressive start to the season, as have a number of our other young contracted players. A number of clubs have spoken to us about him in recent days and we have given permission for him to trial with Spurs.”
“The fact that a Premier League club is interested in one of our players says a lot about the quality of the coaching and management the boys are receiving and it reflects well on our academy set-up.”
Our Landlord thinks that Tracey could be a big hit amongst Spurs supporters in the future, with the midfielder definitely showing a lot of potential.
