Decision time: 72% of Liverpool fans want this Klopp reject to start against Sevilla tonight

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are eagerly anticipating their side’s clash with Sevilla this evening. The Reds have had a few good results lately, and given their current standing in their Champions League campaign, things are going very well in Europe too.

They’re currently a point clear of Sevilla in their group, and so a good result will put them in a very commanding position, making this fixture a very significant one.

Jurgen Klopp’s team selection for the fixture is going to be under the microscope, given how important the game is, and he has certainly got a few big decisions to make. Perhaps the most significant of these surrounds his attacking choices, and whether Daniel Sturridge will feature. Klopp has seemingly cast him aside this season, repeatedly failing to call upon the Englishman despite numerous opportunities to do so in recent weeks.

Linked with a January move away by the Mirror earlier this week, Sturridge’s future is uncertain, and another night on the bench could be enough to send him over the edge. Whether he is going to feature has been a big topic of debate this week, and it’s fair to say that most fans are keen to see him feature.

Our landlord recently ran a poll asking that very question, and it seems as though fans are overwhelmingly in support of Sturridge. Indeed, a whopping 72% of fans called for the Englishman to start the game, with just 28% of fans voting to the contrary.

Though his recent form hasn’t been great, fans clearly haven’t forgotten what he can do when he’s on form. Given how deadly he was alongside Luis Suarez a few years ago, there is a genuine hope that he can regain his best form.
