There is drama here in the Football Transfer Tavern as talkSPORT claim that Manchester United have agreed a contract with a 24-year-old defender.
Frickson Erazo claims that Fergie has sounded him out over a move and should he want one, the cards are all on the table in order to make that move happen. Currently playing for Barcelona SC the defender has noted that whilst he may be happy at the club he would relish a move to the English giants.
Erazo stated to Tuttomercatoweb: “It’s really flattering that big European clubs are watching football in my country, but if you think about playing with Real Madrid or Manchester United you risk losing concentration. It’s true that there was initial contact, but it will not help if my performance drops.”
Of course should he make the move to Old Trafford he would be linking up with his national compatriot Antonio Valencia and that could well provide a lure and trump card for Fergie. United of course have a strong back line but with Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic now more injury prone and not getting any younger, Fergie knows his old guard need a rest and is on the look out for cover and eventual successors.
