The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful that Mauricio Pochettino will be able to hold on to Danny Rose this summer…
The English defender has really come of age over the last few years, and alongside Kyle Walker, has formed one of the most impressive defensive pairings in the Premier League.
However, it would appear as though his fine form has not gone unnoticed, with the Mirror reporting that Man City have subsequently set their sights on Rose.
However, it is not all bad news for Tottenham, with the Mirror also suggesting that the club could look towards forgotten Man Utd man Luke Shaw as a potential replacement – with Man City’s reported interest in Rose possibly giving rise to somewhat of an English defender reshuffle.
Whilst the Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern don’t want to see Rose leave, the prospect of Shaw moving to the club is certainly an exciting one. It hasn’t worked out for him at Man Utd, but he has previously been touted as the future of the England defence, and he hasn’t lost that talent overnight.
In truth, this is a saga that has suited all three parties within the Transfer Tavern, and so our landlord actually thinks that there is a chance that this could happen.
Shaw has previously complemented Rose’s performances, and it appears as though it is those very displays that could see him move clubs this summer.
