‘Definitely finishing 6th’, ‘Welcome to Man Utd’ – Man United fans taunt Arsenal on Twitter following Aubameyang announcement

The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have not had too much to shout about by way of January signings since they confirmed the arrival of Alexis Sanchez last week, but that has certainly not deterred them from commenting on the transfer activity of their rivals.

Arsenal finally confirmed the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund today in a club-record deal worth £56 million, much to the delight of The Gunners in the tavern. The supporters will be hoping that the Gabon international can spark a revival at the club after their defeat against Swansea last night left Arsenal 8 points adrift of 4th-placed Liverpool with just 13 fixtures left to play.

The Manchester United fans don’t appear to have a deadline day deal to look forward to, so instead they’ve decided to poke fun at Arsenal on Twitter for their signing of Aubameyang.

Plenty of the supporters have eluded to their recent acquisition of Sanchez and suggested that Aubameyang will also make the switch from The Emirates to Old Trafford in the years to come.

Meanwhile, plenty of Red Devils have also poked fun at Arsenal’s current position in the Premier League and claimed that The Gunners will finish no higher than 6th position this season.

Although the criticism is mostly tongue in cheek, it’s fair to say that the United supporters are taking full advantage of Arsenal’s struggle for form this season with their Twitter tirade.

Here’s what the United fans have had to say about Arsenal’s signing of Aubameyang…
