The midfielder featured for England in their opening Nations League match with Spain on Saturday, in which they were beaten 2-1 at Wembley Stadium.
Alli had had to withdraw from the national team with the minor issue and will not play any role with the Three Lions for their match against Switzerland at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday.
Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping the injury is not too serious and will allow their £90million-rated attacking midfielder, as per Transfermarkt, to be available for their Premier League match against Liverpool on Saturday.
Spurs will be desperately keen for Alli to be available for their match against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at the weekend.
The 22-year-old is vital to Pochettino’s plans and has already played every single minute available for Tottenham this season so far.
With Dinnery’s confirmation that it is just a minor muscle strain, the north London outfit will be hoping a couple of days rest will be all Alli needs to ensure he is fit and ready.
