For the Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern, this deal makes sense for both parties…
Joe Hart’s departure from Man City was well documented, and in recent months the English goalkeeper has impressed on a loan spell with Torino in Italy.
That has led to some suggestions from the Man City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern that he could be set for a return to the Etihad at the end of his current loan deal – but that now does not appear to be the case.
According to the Sun, Man City will sanction a move of £10m for Hart, should a foreign side be interested in his services long-term. Should a Premier League club be interested, though, any move will reportedly need to be beyond the £20m – with Guardiola hesitant to improve a Premier League rival.
This, seemingly, shuts the door on any chance of a Man City return, with both Hart and Guardiola seemingly ready to cut ties.
The Man City fans are disappointed, but recognise that this was always the likely outcome. Claudio Bravo has not looked particularly impressive this season, but Guardiola seemingly just doesn’t rate Hart – and so allowing the Englishman to leave cheaply makes sense for his years of service.
Our landlord thinks that if Hart isn’t going back, Guardiola needs to hunt for a Bravo replacement – as the ex-Barcelona keeper simply isn’t doing the business in the Premier League.
