The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping to seal their place in the final of the Carabao Cup with a victory over Arsenal at The Emirates Stadium this evening.
Manchester City progressed into the final of the Carabao Cup last night after securing a 5-3 aggregate victory over promotion-chasing Bristol City at Ashton Gate, and their opponents for the fixture will be determined this evening. The first leg between Chelsea and Arsenal was hardly a classic, as both sides laboured to a 0-0 draw following 90 minutes of toothless football from the Premier League heavyweights.
It seems extremely unlikely that there will be another goalless draw tonight considering the attacking quality within both sides, but regardless of the scoreline, the winner of the tie will be settled this evening whether it be in 90 minutes, in extra-time, or on penalties.
Ahead of the highly anticipated clash, the Chelsea fans have been discussing Conte’s team selection on Twitter, and perhaps to the surprise of some, plenty of supporters are calling for the inclusion of Charly Musonda from the outset.
Musonda is slowly making a name for himself at Stamford Bridge this season, and his rather limited time on the pitch so far seems to have convinced The Blues faithful that he is ready to step up to the occasion this evening.
And it’s easy to understand why the fans are eager to see his name on the team-sheet considering he capped his cameo appearance with a fine assist for Victor Moses against Brighton last weekend.
Here’s what the Chelsea fans had to say about Musonda ahead of their midweek fixture…
I wish Musonda could start but it's not gonna happen
— James #StartWillian
Musonda has to start tomorrow. Pedro is off form

Musonda deserves a start alongside Hazard and Willian.

I always wonder,in a game like today against Arsenal, playing Musonda along with Hazard and Willian will make sense. But Pedro will get the nod because of the https://t.co/ZLq7uMx5mu a head to head and consistency basis I feel Musonda would easily excel instead of Pedro.

Loads of quality mentioned right there. I hope Musonda gets a chance vs Arsenal tomorrow. But if I had to pick one youngster to make it, Hudson-Odoi. His electricity is special. Chelsea better not let him slip to any other team

Why in the world would it be reaching to say musonda is better than Barkley ?
