Despite Manchester City agreement, transfer target prefers Chelsea

Eliaquim MangalaManchester City and Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are currently discussing who is better.

That’s because both clubs look set to battle it out for Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala this summer.

According to the Daily Star, Manchester City have already agreed a £32 million deal for the French international defender.

But reports suggest that Mangala prefers the interest of Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea and a bid from the West London club could be imminent.

The Blues are currently on the lookout for a central defender after selling David Luiz to Paris Saint-Germain for £50 million earlier this summer.

The 23-year-old is currently at the World Cup representing France and no deal will be done until he returns to Portugal.

But Manchester City still believe they can win over Mangala and persuade him to move to the Etihad Stadium to play alongside the reliable Vincent Kompany in the heart of defence.

Manchester City fans. Does it worry you that a player finds Chelsea a more attractive proposition then a move to the Etihad? Let us know your thoughts below.
