It’s been a long time coming for Chelsea in their quest to develop the so-called next John Terry, with the fans in the Transfer Tavern growing increasingly frustrated at the lack of faith being shown in the Blues’ young division.
Many have tried and failed to progress over the years, with players including Josh McEachran and Nathaniel Chalobah just two examples.
However, that trend does appear to be changing. Andreas Christensen broke into the team earlier this year, whilst Ethan Ampadu, Chelsea’s young Welsh starlet, has looked very good too.
Having moved from Exeter last year, Ampadu clearly impressed Antonio Conte with his class, poise and passing ability, and so it’s no real surprise that he has had a number of appearances this season.
However, it doesn’t look as though the Welshman will be getting any more minutes anytime soon, owing to a report from the Evening Standard. According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea have confirmed that the Welshman is unlikely to play again this season after fracturing his ankle.
It’s a cruel blow for the teenager, as he was just starting to gain a head of steam both for Chelsea and for Wales.
Unsurprisingly, the Chelsea fans over on Twitter haven’t received the news very well, with fans taking to the site to reveal their frustration and disappointment.
Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…

This is a shame as Ethan Ampadu has been a huge plus for Chelsea this season. Fantastic first season for the club https://t.co/CGqZkq5bCK

Hopes he remain in the scenario, for the upcoming seasons and become the next Christensen. Rather than just being a part of the loan army with ultimately getting sold.
