Devastating injury hands huge blow to Arsenal’s title chances

CazorlaArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern believed they’d got through the weekend unscathed but are now being reduced to tears.

The Mirror states that influential midfielder Santi Cazorla may not play again this season, after having surgery in Spain on a knee injury.

Cazorla was previously reported to be out until March but the new developments give Arsenal major concerns and raise the need for midfield signings to be made in January.

Aaron Ramsey filled Cazorla’s position during the weekend victory over Sunderland to good effect, getting himself on the scoresheet, but the Welshman’s injury record means that back-up has to be available within the squad.

Cazorla has been crucial to Arsenal’s form in 2015, forming an excellent partnership with Francis Coquelin, but the duo’s absence has got many in the bar concerned that Arsenal’s season may now derail- despite them sat two-points behind league leaders Leicester City.

For the fans sinking pints in commiseration it’s another blow to a season that’s been plagued by injuries and they’re wondering when their curse will end.
