The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern will be trying to get over this one for weeks. The club could be set to lose one of their biggest fan favourites since the induction of the Premier League as Mousa Dembele gets closer to a move to Chinese Super League side, Beijing Guoan, according to FootballFanCast. The news is not good for any Tottenham fans who all love their number 19.

Mousa Dembele has been a standout performer in the Tottenham first team since he signed for the club from Fulham alongside Clint Dempsey back in 2012. In those six years since joining The Lilywhites, Dembele has amassed over 170 Premier League appearances for the club and has won the hearts of almost every Tottenham fan who has seen him in action, with his ball retention and ability to pick a pass being his key attributes.
The Spurs fans propping our bar will be tearfully looking to the market to find a replacement for the Belgian, who will be plying his trade alongside Brazilian international, Renato Augusto, in Beijing. The club has already started looking at some midfield options, with Tanguy N’Dombele and Mateo Kovacic being lined up as potential replacements, although it’s unlikely that anyone will be able to fill the shoes of the big Belgian.

Been an awesome Spurs player over the time and will miss the beast. One of the most naturally gifted ballers i’ve seen. Grace and elegance. Good luck to @MDembele_10 ! Do we get a fee though?

What a player when fit and in the groove. There's been a few good fooballers at Spurs over the years, but did any of them keep and look after the ball as well as him? Will be a big miss and good luck to him, his injuries are taking their toll in the PL.

It’s clear to see how loved Dembele was in North London and it will be near impossible for Mauricio Pochettino and co to replace the dominant midfielder.
