Development in Arsenal transfer saga could see 21-year-old move to the Emirates

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern don’t want to see Alexis Sanchez leave the club this summer…

The Chilean is clearly the most talented player at the Emirates, and he will have no shortage of suitors this summer, though Arsene Wenger is reportedly hesitant to sell to a Premier League rival. That could change, though, with the Sun reporting that Man City could offer Jason Denayer to the Gunners as part of any deal for Sanchez. It is said that Arsenal have been keen on him in the past, and so Guardiola clearly feels as though the player could be the sweetener that his side needs to seal the deal.

A Belgian central defender, Denayer’s form whilst on loan at Sunderland this season has been mixed at best.

Certainly, it will require a pretty decent offer for any side to prize Sanchez away from the Emirates this summer. Despite uncertainty over his future, the Chilean has been in fine form all year long.  He has bagged 19 goals in the Premier League, putting him amongst some of England’s most deadly finishers.

Indeed, he is one of very few players in an Arsenal shirt that will be able to demand a princely sum this summer, with the majority of his teammates struggling to make an impact. Indeed, a late season resurgence could still see them finish in the top four, but our landlord thinks that it could be too late.

It is certainly looking likely to be a summer of change this summer, with Arsene Wenger’s future still up in the air.
