Di Maria’s World Cup aim alerts Premiership clubs

Angel Di MariaChelsea and Man City target Angel Di Maria has further fuelled speculation that he could be on his way out of  Portuguese club Benfica after again claiming that his future lies away from Estadio de Luz.

The young Argentine international has put in some stellar performances that have seen both City and Chelsea ready to match his 40m Euro valuation and he now feels that he is ready to move on. Speaking to La Red, Di Maria said:

“I am very eager to play in a different league. I have been in Portugal for three years and going to a bigger club would be very beautiful for me and my career.”

He also feels a move could strengthen his push for a place in Diego Maradona’s World Cup squad,

“It is hard to get a place among the 23 given the quality of Argentina’s squad, but I feel I will be at the World Cup and I hope the coach thinks so too.”

[Is there any substance to this and should this rumour Fly or Die?]
