The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been enjoying the summer so far, and they’ve had some more good news today BBC Sports journalist, David Ornstein has confirmed that Calum Chambers will be signing a new four-year deal keeping him at The Emirates until 2022.
Calum Chambers will today sign a new 4yr contract with Arsenal to keep him there until 2022. Only signed 2yr extension in Oct 2017 that tied him down until 2021 but new head coach Unai Emery sees huge potential in 23yo + wants him to compete for starting berth at centre-back #AFC

The Arsenal fans in the Tavern have been taken aback by this news, there was nothing leading up to the deal that would suggest Chambers was in line for a contract extension. The fans have been urging new manager Unai Emery to fix up Aaron Ramsey with a new contract at the club but that is yet to happen and in the meantime, the fans will have to get by with the good news today surrounding Calum Chambers.
So far this summer the club has moved to sign both Bernd Leno and Stephan Lichtsteiner and the fans expect that Lucas Torreira will be next to be signed by their Spanish gaffer. The season ahead is a very important one for the club, it’s the first season without Arsene Wenger for a large amount of Arsenal fan who were born after his appointment in 1996 and if Emery gets it right the fans will be hoping he can leave a legacy like the Frenchman.

Started playing really well again towards the end of the season so if he stays more consistent could be very decent
