The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments made by their club’s former defender, Kyle Walker. The 27-year-old swapped London for Manchester last summer and has gone on to win the League Cup and the Premier League in his first season under Pep Guardiola, but has claimed that he wants to see Spurs lift the FA Cup this season saying that they deserve it for the hard work they put in.

Kyle Walker reportedly fell out with Mauricio Pochettino at the back end of last season, a move which ended in his sale to Manchester City for a huge transfer fee. The move looks to have benefitted Walker more than Spurs though, as the electric right-back has been one of City’s most consistent performers this season, missing just six games out of the club’s 52 in all competitions.
The Tottenham fans have been watching on as one of their club’s longest-serving players in recent years has jumped ship in the pursuit of trophies. The departure of the 27-year-old may have had a domino effect on some of Spurs other star players. Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose look set to depart Tottenham in the summer as contract issues have developed with the club’s wage structure preventing a single player from earning more than £100,000 per week in N17.

This is why the people that booed him on Saturday should be ashamed of themselves.

Nah, he could have stayed and contributed – last season we got to the semi and Poch made clear quotes about keeping focus until the end of the season which were aimed at Walker who was eyeing the move.
