Disappointing summer signing reportedly offered Tottenham escape route

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have witnessed more than a few transfer disappointments over the last few years…

The funds generated from the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid have become notorious for not being utilised correctly, with the poor signings of that summer in many ways a characterisation of a few years of poor business by Daniel Levy and co.

Under Pochettino, their luck appears to have changed, though, with the likes of Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld all coming in to huge success – but even the Argentine has had a couple transfer shockers since his arrival.

The most notorious of these came over the summer, with striker Vincent Janssen switching the Netherlands for the Premier League. He came with a devastating goalscoring record, and many in the Tavern were expecting him to rival Harry Kane this season – but it just hasn’t happened.

He has looked poor and out of his depth, and now it looks like a side could be looking to rescue him from his Tottenham nightmare.

According to Turkish publication Fanatik, Turkish side Galatasaray are reportedly keen on the Tottenham forward, and could look to make a move in the summer.

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern certainly wouldn’t mind seeing Janssen leave the club, though they are wary that his poor form may dictate a vastly reduced transfer fee.

Our landlord thinks that whilst it hasn’t worked out for Janssen in the Premier League, he is still young enough to rebuild his career – and a move away could be just what he needs.
