Divisive Chelsea figure laments life in England amid La Liga links

Diego Costa’s showing against West Ham United on Monday night perfectly summed him up to the punters in the Transfer Tavern.

At his best, the Spaniard is a match winner and undoubtedly one of the elite strikers in the continental game. At his worst, however, he looks like a madman.

Though he is has clearly started the campaign in West London, one of the major stories of the summer has been his constant links with an emotional return to Atletico Madrid.

Having made his name with Los Rojiblancos and spearheading them to a La Liga title, Diego Simeone is believed to be keen on bringing him back to the Spanish capital.

Following his typically controversial performance against the Hammers, could the La Roja ace have added fuel to the fire?

In an interview with ESPN Brazil, the 27-year old lamented his treatment in England, by referees and other players.

”I’ll be honest, I am targeted here, by the referees, the people… if I do something, it’s totally different than if any other players do. It needs to be seen, that people targeted me”, he stressed.

“It’s something I have to deal with and I ask god that these things don’t disturb me and don’t take the sequence of the games from me, which happens sometimes and gives me suspensions.”

Does Costa have a point? Or does he bring it on himself? Let us know below…
