Divock Origi could benefit as Jurgen Klopp plots changes

Liverpool will be preparing for their match with Napoli on Wednesday night as they look to make it two wins from two in their Champions League group.

The Reds overcame Paris Saint-Germain in the dying moments of the game to get the three points.

Jurgen Klopp, whose side have faced Chelsea in back-to-back games, as well as Southampton, between their two European games, will know Manchester City will await them on their return.

With the game at Anfield against the Premier League Champions in mind, the German has admitted to the club’s official website he could look to make changes against Napoli.

“We will see, maybe we will make one or two changes or whatever – maybe more – but it’s all about this game. It’s the only way I understand it. We will think about this game and then we will see who we can use for City,” he said.

That could be good news for Divock Origi, who has travelled with the squad to Italy after recovering from an ankle injury.

The Belgian was a surprise inclusion in the Champions League 25-man squad, however, Klopp believes the attacker is in ‘outstandingly good shape’ and could get a chance to shine on Wednesday.

The Verdict:

Klopp and Liverpool will want to ensure they pick up the three points from their time in Italy, however, with the match against City on the horizon, it is likely that he will make changes.

Origi could be an individual to benefit from that decision as he is unlikely to feature much for the Reds in their Premier League campaign, with the likes of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Xherdan Shaqiri all vying for places.

The £9million-rated attacker, as per Transfermarkt, will be looking to make an impact if given a chance to shine and could be handed the chance to do so at Stadio San Paolo.
